Mill, Bodie, California
This
is the stamp mill where the ore from the Bodie gold mine was processed.
If you visit Bodie, be sure to take the tour of the mill area. The
tour guide assumes the persona of a mining foreman and the tour
group becomes a group of job applicants — better yet, the time
frame is set in the early 20th century. He warns you fairly that
if you are injured on the job, “Well, we'll have to let you
go.” So much for workman's comp! |
