Death Valley National Park: A contemplation of a natural monument, March 2005 ~ photographs & text by Matt Jalbert
Globemallow wildflower bloom, Death Valley, March 13, 2005

Spring 2005 in Death Valley was, by all accounts, the year of the wildflowers, following the wettest winter on record. This bush of Globemallow (Sphaeralcea ambigua) was the only one of its kind I saw; found on the west side of the road south of Ubehebe Crater, Sunday, March 13, 2005.
