You seem to be a bit of a yuppie environmentalist.
No insults intended.
You do have some valid points.

I note that while whining about cars, you are using one to travel, explore and sleep in.
I suppose you will be the happiest when you can get a grant from someone, probably the Federal Government to assist in your environmental nirvana.

I have enjoyed the ocean, desert and mountains for many years.

In my travels, which at times were fairly thorough for the areas I was in, I never saw a self-professed environmentalist, Sierra Clubber or any of that ilk very far from the highway.
The few I saw were not far from their cars.

I believe the environmentalists will be happiest when the great outdoors is shut off from the common man/woman, although they will be forced to support it via taxation.

Of course the environmentalists will always have access through some pretext.

Sort of the "Kings Forest" if you will.

Environmental consciousness is necessary.

The great majority of enviro's today, and you seem to be one, are going to suffer a great backlash from the public, and then the environmental destruction will be like nothing any of us have ever seen.

Is this a threat? No.

Just a simple perception of what may happen, if a way is not found for all of us to work together and share.
